unified “Future Ways of Working” program
Amid the pandemic, PwC Canada recognised the opportunity to redefine how it worked—strengthening both its market leadership and its employee experience. When early efforts lost momentum, Veldhoen + Company was invited to help “unstick” the program and create a clear, shared roadmap from vision to implementation.
The Challenge
The existing “Future Ways of Working” initiative had generated enthusiasm but lacked alignment and traction. Progress was hindered by differing expectations across leadership layers and unclear ownership of next steps. PwC sought a trusted partner to listen deeply across the firm and translate diverse perspectives into one unifying vision capable of guiding decisions long term.
Approach / Process / Interventions
Key steps included:
- Conducting extensive interviews with executives, managers, and staff.
- Synthesising insights into clear themes on flexibility, collaboration, and wellbeing.
- Facilitating leadership workshops to co-define the vision, guiding principles, and action plan.
- Translating insights into an implementation roadmap linking strategy, culture, and space.
Results / Impact / Outcomes
- A shared North Star vision anchoring future decisions.
- Stronger leadership alignment and ownership.
- A credible, phased implementation plan.
- A sustained reference point for ongoing transformation.
“The process reminded us that lasting change begins with deep listening and shared intent.”
