As Sun Life prepared its return to the office after the pandemic, it recognised that hybrid work required new mindsets and skills. Together with Veldhoen + Company, the organisation developed a fast, accessible, and practical learning solution to help employees and managers thrive.

The Challenge

Hybrid work made maintaining connection and collaboration more complex. Managers and employees needed simple, engaging tools to build clarity, trust, and rhythm across distances—without overwhelming already busy schedules.

Approach / Process / Interventions

Veldhoen + Company co-created a just-in-time learning program titled Leading and Working on Hybrid Teams.

It combined:

  • Short learning videos for inspiration.
  • Individual reflections to raise self-awareness.
  • Team exercises to apply insights in real contexts.
Modules covered: trust, clarity, engagement, connectedness, and team agreements.

Results / Impact / Outcomes

  • Rapid rollout of learning across functions.
  • Managers gained a common framework for hybrid leadership.
  • Employees reported stronger connection and team energy.
  • Hybrid practices embedded in Sun Life’s leadership DNA.

“Veldhoen + Company helped us make hybrid leadership simple, actionable, and human.”
